A soldier must complete initial training before they can move on with their Army career. They will attend Basic Combat Training (BCT) or One Station Unit Training (OSUT). Most jobs or MOS will do 10 weeks of BCT. Soldiers in the MOS of 11B, 11C, 19K, 31B and a few others will do 22 weeks of OSUT. After a soldier completes BCT they will move onto Advance Individual Training (AIT) to learn how to do their MOS. If they do OSUT then basic training and MOS training are done together over 22 weeks.
